Basic Handgun Safety / Shooting Class
A comprehensive introduction to handguns. Topics include:
- Identification of different types of pistols, revolvers, and their parts
- Proper cleaning and maintenance of a handgun
- Safe gun handling at the range and at home
- Ammunition function and nomenclature
- Fundamentals of pistol shooting
- One Handed and Two handed shooting
BSIS Initial Firearms Qualification Course
This class is required by the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services for all guards who carry and exposed firearms while on duty.
- Completion of the class does not guarantee issuance of a permit by BSIS.
- Class fees include instruction, range fees, and targets.
- You may bring your own firearm and ammo or rent a firearm in the caliber you wish to qualify with at the range.
BSIS Firearms Requalification
Security officers with Firearm Permits are required by the BSIS to qualify every six months.
- Cost of class includes range fees and targets.
- Allows for two qualification attempts, or qualification with two calibers.
- Attendee's need to bring their duty gear and 60 rounds of ammunition for each weapon.
BSIS Guard Card Certification
This class is required by the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services to work as a security guard in California.
OC/Pepper Spray Class
BSIS approved course for security officers.
